A 10-year-old autistic boy of Chunga Township in Lusaka has been robbed of his innocence after being allegedly repeatedly sodomised by a 27-year-old man of the same area.
According to a report in the Zambia Daily Mail, the victim has a condition called autism, a spectrum disorder related to brain development that impacts how a person perceives and socialises with others.
Apart from battling challenges that come with the condition, the victim, who is a special class pupil, is now facing the trauma of being allegedly molested by Peter Jere, who was recently arrested.
Jere allegedly molested the child on March 3 and 4 this year, first in an unfinished building and later at the abuser’s house, with sources close to the case indicating that the victim could have been infected with a sexually transmitted ailment.
