A man identified as Edward Manda who was allegedly shot by a Chinese national named Wu Zhigang in Lumezi District, Eastern Province has died.
Police have however amended the charge slapped on the suspect who is detained at Lundazi Police Station from attempted murder to murder.
Acting Eastern Province Police Commanding Officer Davies Simwanza said the 46-year-old died on Tuesday at Chipata Central Hospital where he was admitted after he was shot.
The accused who resides in Lusaka’s Makeni area allegedly shot Manda who was among people found picking aqua stones at the Chinese owned Jin Wan Mine in Lumezi district on Monday on the left thigh and sustained a fractured leg.
