WITH the State having submitted that the contract between HoneyBee Pharmacy Limited and Ministry of Health was allegedly corrupt and fraudulent, the pharmaceutical company has now filed a notice to discontinue the case in which it had sued Government.
According to the latest submissions, HoneyBee has discontinued the matter, opting for an ex curia (out of court) settlement, this is according to a report in the Zambia Daily Mail today.
“Take notice that pursuant to the provisions of the arbitration Act number 19 of 2000, and with a view to an amicable settlement of these proceedings herein, the plaintiff wholly discontinued these proceedings to pursue an ex curia in the matter,” the notice of discontinuance reads in part.
In its earlier lawsuit, HoneyBee sought payment of close to US$18 million for medical supplies including the much talked-about condoms it delivered to Government in 2019.
