Accompanied by the First Lady of Italy, Signora Laura Mattarella, we visited the ‘Stay in School Initiative Project’ in Woodlands, Lusaka.
This worthwhile Initiative, works with cooperating partners to train women in tailoring to make reusable sanitary towels. These are then distributed to vulnerable school girls in Zambia’s rural areas.
With the availability of reusable pads, schoolgirls are able to consistently attend classes, as lack of proper sanitary hygiene can lead to school absenteeism.
