Twenty-one (21) teachers are sharing one staff house at Nyengo Combined School in Sikongo District of Western Province due to a critical shortage of accommodation at the school.

This came to light when the Litunga of Western Province made a stop-over at Sikongo Combined School while on a tour of Sikongo District to appreciate the challenges his subjects were facing as well as to explore developmental opportunities in the district.

And Sikongo Combined School Head Teacher Lifumbo Nyambe told the Litunga that the school management has been compelled to turn one classroom at the learning institution into alternative teachers’ accommodation.

Mr. Nyambe has since appealed to the Litunga to help talk to government to ensure that the critical shortage of accommodation at the school is addressed.

Meanwhile, Barotse Royal Establishment Ngambela (Prime Minister) Manyando Mukela says the Litunga has taken into account the accommodation crisis at Nyengo Combined School where teachers were more like staying in a boarding school.

The Ngambela appealed to the teachers to remain calm at the school as his majesty would strive to ensure that the problem of accommodation was resolved at the learning institution.

He said the Litunga was having love and passion for Western Province and was committed to developing the province.

The BRE Prime Minister also assured the Nyengo Combined School management that the Litunga would ensure that the school was provided with solar power to improve learning facilities at the institution. This is contained in a report published by Lukulu FM.
