Government has extended by 60 days the amnesty period for illegal water users to rectify irregularities.
Speaking during the commemoration of World Rivers Day, Water Development Minister Mike Mposha says after the expiry of the latest extension, there will be no further extension.
The ministry initially issued a 90-day amnesty before extending it for a further 60 days.
And Mr Mposha said the ministry has launched the Zambezi Source Restoration Program to protect the source of the river.
The Minister said next week, trees will be planted at the source of the river to reverse environmental degradation.
