Police in Siavonga have arrested a 49 year old man of Kanyelele compound for theft of fresh fish from Zamfresh Fish Cages.
The incident occurred on December 8, 2022 around 02:00 hours at Zamfresh in Siavonga District.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect while in the Company of other 3 unknown people went to steal fish at the said company. During the act, alert security guards spotted them and quickly intervened apprehending one while 3 others jumped into the water and ran away.
One boat belonging to the suspect was recovered together with fish weighing 987 kilograms valued at K69,723.
Suspect is detained in Police custody while Police have launched a manhunt for the other three suspects.
