Government has paid 130.7 million dollars as debt service as at December 2022.

Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane says government has continued to engage Zambia’s external creditors in an effort to restructure the country’s unsustainable debt.

He said this is being done under the G20 common framework, under which official Creditors have formed the official creditors Committee to find a lasting solution on Zambia’s debt.

The Finance Minister said this in a ministerial statement to Parliament on the state of the economy as at January 2023.
