The Emerald Production Watch of Zambia has backed the Presidential decision not to assent to the Minerals Regulation Commission Bill of 2024.
Emerald Production Watch of Zambia President MUSA KAFIMBWA has proposed the need for further consultations involving the government and all players in the extractive industry to achieve consensus.
Mr. KAFIMBWA also pledged his organization’s support towards the government’s quest to better the mining sector.
He said this in an interview with ZNBC news in Ndola.
Last week, President HICHILEMA referred back to the National Assembly the Minerals Regulation Commission Bill of 2024 for reconsideration.
President HICHILEMA said the Bill needs wide consultations from various stakeholders before he can assent to it.
