Jimmy Muchindu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jelumu, one of the most popular local car trading businesses, has tipped Zambians that about the secret to “making it in life.”
Despite being a committed Christian, Mr Muchindu is not one who believes that prayer alone and shouting “I receive” during Sunday services is enough for one to become prosperous in life.
Featuring on Kenny T 1 on 1 Podcast, Mr Muchindu said hard work can never be substituted.
“Throughout my childhood, I used to be somebody that believes in hard work. I know that there is nothing anyone can achieve today, if you don’t take time to use your hands,” he said.
“You need to make sure that you are somebody who is working hard regardless of whatever it is that you may be engaged in or you are doing, hard work can never be substituted.”
Speaking of his upbringing and business, he has faced numerous challenges but the love for the car business has kept him going.
Mr Muchindu is a product of Mambirima Primary school right in the heart of Lusaka’s Matero township.
His father, who worked for the government during the Dr Kenneth Kaunda reign, as the Vice-President’s driver.
His father passed away when he was aged seven. While his father was alive, Mr Muchindu had a close relationship with him and it is from strong bond with his father that the love for cars grew.
