The Zambezi River Authority (ZRA) has projected a significant increase in water inflows at Lake Kariba, forecasting a rise from 20.17 billion cubic meters in 2024 to 46 billion cubic meters in 2025.

ZRA Chief Executive Officer, Munyaradzi Munodawafa, says the substantial increase in water inflows will positively impact the allocation of water to ZESCO and the Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) this year.

Speaking during the launch of the ZRA’s 2025-2029 corporate strategy in Siavonga District today, Mr. Munodawafa explained that both power utility companies will be allocated 13.5 billion cubic meters each, with the potential for a further increase following a review by the authority later in March this year.
