Former president Edgar Lungu has advised youths to remember their strength and capabilities.
Mr Lungu said in a statement in commemoration of Youth Day today that the young people needed to stand up and be proud of who they are.
He said the youths should be bold and speak to issues that affect them and the country in general.
“As you commemorate this year’s Youth Day, remember that the future of Zambia is in your hands. Therefore, don’t be fearful,” he said.
“Zambia now needs your voice, your energy and your vision more than ever before. Remember the UN Rapporteur on Human Rights and Freedom of Expression, Mrs Irene Khan, recently informed the world that Zambia is at a crossroads ahead of the 2026 General and Presidential Elections.”
