A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl has died after a motor vehicle ran over her in Kapiri-Mposhi’s Kanyemu village.
Central Province commissioner of police Charity Munganga said the incident happened on Saturday around 03:00 hours when the victim was with her mother at a funeral.
Ms Munganga said the driver of a Mitsubishi Colt Vanette registration number ALV260, Freedom Simoonga, 42, who is believed to be inexperienced, started the car, which was parked at a slope, after which it descended and rammed three people.
She identified the dead girl as Mweene Chabilo, three, and two other victims as Brenda Mweene, 30, mother of the girl, who sustained a fractured leg and waist, and Mable Hamboola, 25, who sustained a fractured leg.
“All the casualties are of Kamukwamba village and have been taken to Kabwe Central Hospital,” Ms Munganga said.
