Dr. David Kayeye, a 30-year-old Zambian medical doctor, has died in Memphis in the United States after he was hit by a vehicle and thrown into a river.

The incident occurred on November 1. Dr. Kayeye was initially reported missing and authorities later confirmed that he had been struck by a car before his body was discovered in a nearby river.

Dr. Kayeye had moved from Zambia to Tennessee about a year ago to pursue further studies and advance his medical career.

The Organisation of Zambians Abroad (OZA) President, Sidique Abdullah Gondwe Geloo, confirmed the tragic news, stating that the funeral and burial were held on Friday at Merton St. in Memphis, Tennessee. The service was attended by family members, the Zambian community in the United States and friends of the late doctor.
