Three people from Monze have been arrested for stealing and slaughtering a cow which had strayed into a herd belonging to a teacher at Nalutanda Primary School.
In October, 2025, Aaron Mizinga, 42, discovered that three animals had drifted into his herd at Nakumba grazing area, hence reported the matter to the village headman.
On 4th May, 2026, around 01:00 hours, Mizinga received information that four suspects had been apprehended after slaughtering one of the animals at Namalyo area, a black cow branded and valued at K15,000.
Those arrested were 21-year-old Chrispine Ndundwa, Mostern Shimbwebya, aged 43, and Mashall Kaluwe, 54, two of whom are herdsmen at the grazing area.
Meanwhile, the other suspect only identified as Pardon, escaped and remains on the run as at broadcast.
Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Moono Namalongo, says officers who visited the scene at Namalyo recovered some parts of the beef carcass.
