The Emerald Production Watch of Zambia has challenged African leaders to accelerate the adoption of technology-driven policies aimed at fostering economic growth and development across the continent.

Organization President, Musa Kafimbwa, who is currently in China studying Economic Mining, says African countries must draw valuable lessons from China’s rapid technological advancement and industrial growth.

Dr. Kafimbwa says despite having limited natural resources compared to Africa, China has successfully placed technology at the center of its development agenda, enabling the country to achieve significant economic transformation.

He notes with concern that many African countries continue to underutilize their vast natural resources, while developed nations such as China are maximizing innovation and technology to boost productivity and economic expansion.

Dr. Kafimbwa further stresses the need for African governments to invest in technology, research, and skills development in order to improve resource management and create sustainable economic opportunities for citizens.

Meanwhile, Erick Zhang, a representative from Zhengzhou University of Technology, says China remains committed to sharing technological expertise with African countries to help drive development and strengthen cooperation between the two regions.

Dr. Kafimbwa says Africa’s future economic success will largely depend on how quickly governments embrace innovation, digital transformation, and modern industrial practices capable of unlocking the continent’s full potential.
