Three people, among them an 18-year-old juvenile, have appeared in court in Lusaka, for alleging that their private parts had been stolen.
The accused, Justin Banda aged 31, Benny Kasongo aged 21 and the juvenile, appeared today before Lusaka Magistrate, Martin Namushi.
The 3 are charged for the offence of Giving False Information to a Public Officer, contrary to Section 125 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Banda and Kasongo and the juvenile however could not take plea owing to failure to determine the exact age of the third accused.
When the matter came up, State Prosecutor, Ecrreen Malumani made an application to subject the juvenile to an examination before the matter could proceed.
Ms Malumani said the examination is meant to determine the exact age owing to the juvenile’s guardians failure to present documents to prove the age.
Magistrate Namushi has since adjourned the matter to May 22, 2026 for determination of age and possible plea.
Allegations are that Banda, on March 22, 2026, gave false information to Lusaka Central Police that his private parts had been stolen when he knew it was not true.
On the same day, Kasongo and the juvenile also gave false information to Lusaka Central Police Station that their private parts had been stolen when they knew it was not true.
