TWENTY-TWO-YEAR-OLD Lushomo Hamahuwa of the National Party for Unity and Prosperity (NPUP) has joined the race for the Choma mayoral seat after filing his nomination papers.

Hamahuwa will battle it out with Honest Mweemba of the United Party for National Development (UPND), who filed his nomination earlier in the day.

Mr Hamahuwa’s filing came moments before the close of nominations.Speaking after filing his nomination, Mr Hamahuwa said that despite facing criticism due to his age, he remains determined to pursue his aspirations.

“It has been a great journey. There have been critics from all sides, but we remain determined and committed to our goals. We have never given up,” he said.
