Health Minister SLYVIA MASEBO says Sickle cell anaemia is among the leading causes of mortality among children admitted to University Teaching Hospitals Children’s Hospital.
Ms MASEBO says to address sickle cell disease, clinics have been set up at Levy Mwanawasa Hospital, Chipata General Hospital, Chinsali and Kasama hospitals in the last three years.
Ms MASEBO said this in a speech read on her behalf by Director Clinical and Diagnostic Services, ALEX MAKUPE at the commemoration of the World Sickle Cell Day in Lusaka.
