What begun as a peaceful and usual day yesterday in Chinyingi of Zambezi district was turned sour after a person was left to battle for his life with serious life threatening wounds after being attacked by a crocodile .
According to received reports, Rogan Zangi, the headboy at Chinyingi Day Secondary School went for swimming in the Zambezi River around 16:00 yesterday were he was attacked by a crocodile.
By God’s mercy, he miraculously managed to free himself from the jaws of the predator and in no time taken to the area clinic before being transfered to Zambezi District Hospital.
From the received pictures, which we can not share due to their nature, Zangi was left with deep crocodile bites on both legs and hips.
The Chinyingi potion of the Zambezi River is one of the highly crocodile infested area owing to its deepness and thick reeds along it’s barks.
For a long time now, Chinyingi and Chitokoloki areas have been having crocodile attacks as people continue to use the River as a source of water for lack of safe and clean water points.
It is a walk up call to leaders to provide these two areas access to clean and safe water through drilling of boreholes.
