Chinese Ambassador to Zambia DU XIAOHUI says a Chinese delegation is in Zambia to explore possibilities for a partnership to revamp Mulungushi Textiles in Kabwe District of Central province.
Speaking during the Jiangxi -Zambia Investment and Trade Cooperation Conference in Chibombo, Mr. XIAOHUI said the delegation will be meeting with various Zambian officials to find the best ways to implement the 15 agreements that were signed when President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA visited China.
He said the establishment of an Electric Vehicle Battery manufacturing plant and the revamping of the Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority TAZARA will be top on the to-do-list of the Chinese delegation.
And speaking at the same event which also coincided with the commissioning of the Zambia -Jiangxi Economic Cooperation Multi Facility Zone, President HICHILEMA thanked his Chinese counterpart XI JINPING for moving quickly to ensure the cooperation agreements start taking shape.
President HICHILEMA said Zambia as a land linked country is developing trade corridors so that its geographical centrality can be utilised in regional and global trade.
And President HICHILEMA has called on management at the Zone to incorporate small scale traders.
