A 28-year-old man has drowned in a swimming pool at a named resort in Monze district, Southern province.
GIVEN MUSHANGA died yesterday around 15 hours, as he was swimming with 3 friends in the Matanda Extension area.
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, AUXENSIO DAKA has confirmed, saying the incident was reported by one of the deceasedโs friends.
Mr DAKA has explained that the GIVEN and his friends went to have fun at a named resort in Chicheleko area, where they also started swimming in the pool.
He added that after some time, the deceasedโs friends discovered that he was missing and immediately engaged the owner of the resort to search the pool.
Mr DAKA says around 17:30 hours, the deceasedโs body was discovered in the pool and later retrieved.
An inquiry file has since been opened.
