Zambia will host the inaugural African Continental Free Trade Area AfCFTA digital trade and services forum.
And President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is expected to grace the forum, which has attracted over 1,000 delegates.
Technology and Science Minister FELIX MUTATI says the forum will run from Tuesday 6th May to Saturday 10th May 2025, at the Mulungushi international conference center.
Mr. MUTATI says the digital trade forum will have participation from heads of state, ministers, industry leaders, academic institutions and innovators from across Africa and beyond.
Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka, Mr MUTATI said with the adoption of digital technologies, it has become inevitable that Africa leverages e-commerce, digital platforms, and cross border data flows to enhance competitiveness and ensure small busi
esses access new markets across the continent.
Meanwhile, Commerce Permanent Secretary LILLIAN BWALYA said this is an opportunity for Zambia to showcase its economic potential and maximize on growing small businesses.
