Benjamin Kafula, a 30-year-old businessman and employee at Time Petroleum, who is accused of murdering his immediate boss, Vipin Tiwari has been committed to the High Court in Chinsali, Muchinga Province for hearing.

This follows instructions received from the office of the Director of Public prosecution (DPP) to commit the case for hearing.

The incident occurred on March 19, 2024, when Kafula and Tiwari were on their way to deposit company funds at a bank in Nakonde.

According to reports, Kafula was driving the vehicle that hit a stationary truck a few meters away from their station on the Great North Road.

Mr Tiwari lost his life in the accident, while Kafula sustained head injuries and a fractured leg.

Following the incident, Kafula was rushed to the hospital and later arrested in connection with the murder charge.

The particulars of the offense state that Kafula allegedly murdered Vipin Tiwari on the specified date in Nakonde.

He is also facing another charge, theft by servant alongside two other employees.

They are accused of stealing over K600,000 company money.
