Zambia Police Service Saddens by the Death of Former Commissioner Standwell Lungu.
The Zambia Police Service has confirmed the death of retired Commissioner of Police, Mr. Standwell Lungu, who served as Commissioner of Police.
Mr. Lungu died earlier today at the University Teaching Hospital after an illness.
The Inspector General of Police, Graphel Musamba together with officers and civilian staff expressed their condolences and considered the late commissioner a senior officer who served the Service with unwavering commitment and significant contribution.
“The Zambia Police Service stands shoulder to shoulder with the family in support, comfort and prayers during this difficult time,” the statement read.
Mr. Lungu will be remembered for his many years of service in law enforcement. Funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
