The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing, and Urban Development has issued a public apology for the ongoing traffic congestion along the 6 to 22 Miles stretch of road, attributing the disruption to active construction works.
Permanent Secretary Professor Albert Malama acknowledged the public outcry and assured citizens that immediate steps are being taken to address the situation. He revealed that meetings have been held with the contractor, Macro Oceans Investment Consortium Limited, as well as the Road Development Agency (RDA) and the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA), to ensure full implementation of the congestion mitigation plan.
Professor Malama emphasized that the Ministry is working tirelessly to resolve the issue and is committed to completing the construction works as quickly as possible while minimizing inconvenience to road users.
