Throughout the year, the company delivered people-centred solutions that reflected a simple belief that technology should make everyday life safer, convenient and rewarding. Below, the company reflects on a few of the impactful and innovative projects that touched the lives of many Zambians throughout 2025.

Safety and trust remained at the heart of Yangoโs operations in 2025. The company rolled out a free insurance programme covering partner drivers, couriers and customers during rides and deliveries, strengthening social protection across its entire ecosystem at no extra cost.
This focus on safety extended into digital innovation. Yango introduced a new in-app Safety Centre and personalised safety flow, making security features more visible and easier to use for passengers. From PIN-code trip verification and SOS access to real-time safety checklists, the update empowered users to actively engage with their own safety throughout each journey.

For partner drivers and couriers, 2025 was marked by initiatives that prioritised welfare, health, autonomy and dignity. Yango hosted a free health screening and wellness day in Lusaka, offering medical checks, health education and first-aid kits.
The company also introduced the โMy Areaโ feature, enabling drivers to choose preferred operating zones and preview destinations before accepting trips. Combined with safety education sessions, the initiative enhanced transparency, reduced unnecessary fuel costs and gave drivers greater control over their working day.

Beyond its platform users, Yango extended its safety agenda to the wider community. Through the Safer Journeys to School initiative, delivered in partnership with the Zambia Road Safety Trust, Yango provided road safety education to more than 8,000 children and upgraded infrastructure around high-risk schools in Lusaka, from zebra crossings to signage and speed-calming measures. These efforts reinforced Yangoโs belief that safer mobility must include everyone, especially children.

Youth development was a defining theme of Yangoโs 2025 impact. The company celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the Yango STEM Fellowship, supporting young Zambians with financial support, mentorship and hands-on skills to prepare them for careers in science, technology and innovation.
Yango also served as the main sponsor of the BeRelevant Youth Summit and the EGYD Career Fair, supporting national platforms that brought together over 1000 young leaders, policymakers and innovators. These events amplified youth voices, encouraged solution-driven leadership and is expected to influence thousands more through youth-led initiatives across the country.

In December, Yango convened a high-level Tech Day with the Ministry of Technology and Science, exploring how AI and digital systems can strengthen public service delivery, from transport and customs to healthcare and education. The dialogue reflected Yangoโs approach to deploying technology where it delivers measurable, real-world value.
On the innovation front, Yango launched Yango Ventures, a corporate venture fund designed to support early-stage startups with capital, expertise and access to global networks. The initiative opened new opportunities for Zambian entrepreneurs to scale solutions with regional and global relevance.

While technology powered many of Yangoโs initiatives, human connection remained central. During the festive season, Yango shared Christmas with Fountain of Hope Orphanage, donating essential supplies and spending the day with the children through games and a shared meal, reinforcing the idea that impact is as much about presence as provision.
Yango also supported the Nkata Africa Football Tournament in Kalingalinga, helping over 150 young boys to develop their dreams of becoming footballers with financial support, jerseys and mentoring. On International Youth day, Yango Zambia also visited the Matero Girls School where together with Alumni and Yango Zambia leaders, the girls were motivated to study hard and advised on real life challenges. They were gifted essential items as well.

Internally, Yango Zambia was recognised as a Great Place to Workยฎ, reflecting a strong people-first culture built on trust, inclusion and integrity. The recognition underscored the companyโs belief that sustainable impact starts with empowered teams on the ground.
