The Nigerian Army has successfully rescued 360 individuals who were held captive by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno State following a series of intense military operations. The rescue occurred during targeted clashes between military forces and the militant group in the region, which has been a primary theater of conflict in the ongoing insurgency.

The military engagement resulted in the successful neutralisation of several insurgent positions, allowing troops to secure the release of the abductees, many of whom had been held against their will for an extended period.

Following the operation, the rescued individuals were transported to military facilities for medical screening, psychological support, and identification before being reunited with their families and community members.

This mission marks another significant development in the broader counter-insurgency campaign led by the Nigerian armed forces to clear remaining extremist strongholds in the Lake Chad Basin.

Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling the militant network and securing the safety of civilians throughout Borno State, noting that intelligence-led operations remain central to their strategy for recovering kidnapped persons.
