A Lusaka-based Economist, PATRICK CHILESHE, says the increase in demand for goods and services during the AU summit is expected to help stabilise the kwacha against the dollar.

According to ZNBC, Dr CHILESHE says hosting of the African Union -AU- Summit has both long and short term benefits for the Zambian economy.

He also explained that the summit, which has prompted an increase in tourism activities, is an opportunity for local entrepreneurs, to provide various services.
