Two employees from Lewanika General Hospital, among them a medical doctor whose name has been withheld until further investigations are concluded, are alleged to have been stealing and collecting money from newly recruited teachers seeking medical examination.

According to Mongu Times, this came to light when some of the newly recruited teachers complained about the happenings at the hospital.

This prompted UPND Mongu constituency youth chairman and his vice to make a follow up on the matter.

According to Mr. Boyd Muyatwa, in order for him to establish facts of these atrocities transpiring within the hospital perimeters, he pretended to be one of the newly recruited teachers in need of the said medical examination and was told to make a payment of k200 of which he did not have but was advised to make payment through mobile money.
