The Zambia Under-20 Men’s National Team has left for Eswatini where they will participate in the TotalEnergies AFCON U20 Egypt 2023 qualifying tournament.
Zambia is in Group A alongside hosts Eswatini, Mauritius and Botswana.
The Chisi Mbewe drilled side left aboard South African Airways at 13:30 hours and were seen off by FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala and Technical Director Lyson Zulu to underscore the significance of the assignment the team has.
Zambia will open its account on October 7 against Mauritius before facing the hosts Eswatini two days later.
The final group game will be on October 11 against Botswana.
Group A winners will face the best runners up across the three groups in the semifinal while Group B winners will play victors in Group C.
Only the two finalists will qualify for the Africa Cup to be held in Egypt next year.
The COSAFA tournament runs from October 7-16.
