Choma’s Simacheche Ward Councilor, Donald Simato, has disclosed that a male child aged 11 from his area was killed by lightning, Wednesday.
Simato says the boy, whose name he is yet to know, was in the company of his friends at a nearby farm settlements to gather local fruits known as Masuku when the incident occurred.
The Civic leader tells Byta FM News that when it began showering, the boy and his friends took refuge at a nearby home where he was struck down by lightning and died instantly.
He says the others who were in his company are reported to be well.
