Soccer star Fashion Sakala has accused some journalists of trying to extort him by offering positive coverage.
Fashion complained that some of these journalists have decided to write negatively about him because he refused to give them money in exchange for positive coverage.
In reaction to these revelations, Chibamba Kanyama wrote:
“I commend the young man Fashion Sakala jnr for standing firm against ‘ransom’ seekers, the blackmailers who are having significant traction on social media. He must focus on his business, playing football from which he earns an income for family. He has worked really hard to be where he is. Most social media platforms exist to extort money from businesses and individuals. I have been a victim and continue to be a victim of that but have refused to pay anyone an ngwee. To Fashion, the truth shall stand out for you young man; just focus on your calling. As long as you maintain your integrity, no one, but yourself, can ever ever pull you down; not even a million social media platforms writing negative stories against you.”
