AFTER authorities dismissed a disease that has hit Lunte Girls Technical School in Kasama, 18 girls at the Mporokoso-based learning institution have been hospitalised with most of them experiencing pain in certain parts of their bodies.

According to a report with Zambia Daily Mail, the Ministry of Health has since decided to send experts from the country’s disease intelligence agency, Zambia Public Health Institute (ZPHI), to the school to reinforce the local medical experts.

Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo said yesterday during a press briefing on COVID-19 and other matters of concern on health that while the disease is non-infectious, Government is concerned of the socio-genetic condition which affected 95 girls, with 77 of them having fully recovered while 18 remain hospitalised.
