The Zambia Women’s National Team have harvested big on the FIFA rankings, climbing to 80th in the world in the latest FIFA World rankings released on Friday.
The Copper Queens have jumped 23 places to move from 103 to 80 and are now among the best 100 teams globally. In Africa, Bruce Mwape’s side is ranked 10th on the continent that is led by Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria.
The ranking improved after their splendid display at the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations where they secured a debut FIFA Women’s World Cup slot and finished the WAFCON in third place.
