I wish to extend my utmost congratulations to Rev. Fr. Gabriel Msipu PHIRI on his appointment as Auxiliary Bishop for the Catholic Diocese of Chipata by his Holiness Pope Francis.
Rev. Fr. Phiri has massively contributed to the Church through his extensive works and experience as a Catholic Father since his ordination as Priest on 15th September, 1991 and he is truly deserving of his appointment as Auxiliary Bishop.
As a Party, we strongly believe and appreciate the spiritual and strategic role that the Church plays in good governance and national building and we are looking forward to working closely with Rev. Fr Phiri and the Catholic Church as a whole in fostering national development, democracy, unity and peace in our country.
