Lightning has killed a 17-year-old girl of Chama’s Kapembe village.
The lightning has also left 23-year-old Robert Kakwende, the husband to the deceased, wounded and hospitalized at Chama district hospital following the lightning that struck their house.
Mphalausenga ward Councilor Edison Phiri has confirmed the incident to Kwenje Radio News and identified the deceased as Aisa Ng’uni.
The Councilor said the deceased who comes from Dungulungu village was married to Kakwende in Kapembe village.
He said the duo met their fate yesterday as their house was set on fire by lightning following heavy rains.
Mr. Phiri who expressed sadness at the incident, prayed for God’s comfort for the family.
The deceased has been put to rest today in Dungulungu village. This is contained in a report published by Kwenje Radio.
