A 24-year-old woman has been admitted to Kitwe Teaching Hospital (KTH) after being rescued by good Samaritans from the Kafue River, where she had thrown herself and her toddler.
The woman, identified as Agness Musialike, was saved from the river, but her two-year-old son, believed to have been swept away by the current in the crocodile-infested waters, is still missing.
Copperbelt police commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba confirmed that the incident occurred early Sunday in Kitwe.
