The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) has suspended the road service licenses of Talwaka Lumo Transport Company, operating under the brand name “Road Force”, and driver Emmanuel Kasunga, for a period of three months, effective August 30, 2024.

The suspension is due to non-compliance with safety regulations, including the failure to maintain active GPS systems in their vehicles.

The suspension follows a series of events, including a serious road accident on June 16, 2024, involving a Talwaka Lumo bus with registration No. BCE 8199ZM, which was found to have an inactive GPS system.

Further, on August 11, 2024, the operator was issued a notice of intention to revoke their road service license after a fatal road traffic crash involving another bus, BCC 7166 ZM, whose GPS was also inactive.

RTSA Head of Public Relations Mukela Mangolwa has confirmed the news to Chete FM News.
