Yesterday, while making an address to the nation in Parliament, President Hakainde Hichilema stressed that “our hearts are with the people of Zambia.”

While one would think such a statement deserve applauds from the masses, most of the netizens had “otherwise” comments on the matter.

Reacting to the comment in question posted on Zambia Reports Facebook Page yesterday, Handson Kalusa said to the President that “you don’t have a heart sir,” while Dismas Mulenga sarcastically said “thank you bashi promise! Get well soon promise.”

Another Facebook user bearing the name of Jay Brown Guys said “ati next week, it’s 2026? how true is that me I want to vote,” Trent Richland Kasote said “I was listening to the broadcast but after I heard the sweettalk I decided to change channel. I love my peace of mind” and Michael Sinkala Mwami said “I owez follow your speeches very well certain critical issues keep them in your heart and show actions of love by providing what people are lacking most when you come out like that you are applying salt on people’s wounds they need medicine not words Mwami.”

Mutale Chisongo doubted if the Head of State had a heart saying “life has become unbearable due to the high cost of living. An average Zambian home is barely affording even a single meal in a day. I am disappointed by the fact that you know how to attract attention by promising what you can’t deliver…Your heart is with you.”

Michael J Major said “your hearts are not working give us your brains” while Elliot KC Moses “I think they were too much ma heartbreaks when you were growing. Does He even have a heart to begin with?”
