SECRETARY to the Treasury Felix Nkulukusa says government is anticipating a reduction in USAID funding, with the final position expected from the US government today.
Speaking during a town hall forum on the national budget and economic performance for the first quarter, Nkulukusa said ongoing discussions with US officials had already indicated a possible decline in support.
“The US government alone supports us about $600 million every year. Out of that $600 million, about $450 million goes in the health sector.
With the policy shift in the US foreign policy, we expect that we may have to realign, I think the 19th will be the day that they will be giving us the position.
