Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Gift Sialubalo has expressed disappointment with the poor workmanship on some Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects in Kasama Central, Northern Province.
Mr. Sialubalo has attributed the poor workmanship to unqualified engineers and has since assured that his Ministry will ensure that qualified personnel are engaged to carry out the works.
He said substandard works will not be tolerated, adding that there is a need to give works to qualified people to ensure that quality is not compromised.
The Minister said this when he toured Chilubula Day Secondary School in Kasama Central, constructed using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) at a cost of over One Million Million Kwacha.
“ I will end my tour in Kasama Central as a sad person. What I have seen here is a sad development. Most of the projects that have been done using CDF are substandard. This is unacceptable, this school is new but it has cracks all over. I will not allow this and am assuring you that my Ministry will put things in order”, he said.
