Family and friends of Latmore Shawa Jnr have been left completely heartbroken following his death from a snake bite.
Shawa was a 2025 Animal Health graduate of Zambia Institute of Animal Health (ZIAH), but his bright future has been cut short just four months after his graduation in July. Just four months later, he is gone – taken by a fatal snake bite while performing his duties in Mpika at one of the Zambia Air Force farms.
The news of Shawa’s passing is extremely heartbreaking to his loved ones, as his dedication and gentle spirit drew people in. He worked hard to achieve his dreams and carried the hope of lifting his family and community through his profession.
His sudden death has left a deep wound. Friends are speaking of him as a warm, focused, and determined young man who was always available to help others, while his family mourns a son whose journey had just begun.
They never imagined that duty would claim his life so soon.
