UNIVERSITY Teaching Hospitals (UTH) has in the last five days successfully conducted about 35 delicate surgeries on children aged between one month and 12 years.

The surgeries were conducted during Neuro Surgical Week by local surgeons at UTH Adult Hospital.

The team of surgeons operated on children with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and brain tumours, among others.

UTH Adult Hospital neuro surgeon Andrew Kasonde said Neuro Surgical Week is one of the planned activities for this year by hospital management and targeted to conduct 45 surgeries.
