Troops of the Nigerian Army, supported by the Nigerian Air Force, have successfully rescued Mrs. Amina Abubakar, the wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar, the former Director of Defence Information. Mrs. Abubakar had been abducted by bandits several weeks ago alongside her late husband.

The rescue was the result of intensified efforts by troops operating under Operation FASAN YAMMA. Following sustained offensive operations, soldiers made contact with the criminal elements at Tunga Village. During the ensuing encounter, the bandits shot Mrs. Abubakar before being forced to abandon her and flee due to the overwhelming pressure from the advancing military units.

Following her recovery, Mrs. Abubakar was immediately evacuated and is currently receiving medical treatment at a military hospital, where she is reported to be responding well. The leadership of the Armed Forces of Nigeria has stated its commitment to ensuring her full recovery and continues to provide all necessary support to her family.

Major General Samaila Uba, the Director of Defence Information, confirmed that troops are continuing ongoing operations to track down and neutralize the perpetrators. The military remains focused on intensifying these efforts to rid affected communities in Katsina and across the entire nation of terrorist activity.
