Fans trooped to the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport to receive the Copper Queens after making a debut at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 which is on going in Australia and New Zealand.
Among the delegates was Minister of Sport Youth and Arts Hon. Elvis Nkandu, MP who was accompanied by his colleague the Minister of Education Hon. Douglas Syakalima, Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sport Kangwa Chileshe, Senior Government officials and FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga where among the delegation. The team was also mesmerized by the Musicians that made the atmosphere epic.
Zambia finished third in group C, a run down on how the team faired they had a 5-0 bashing by Japan in their opening match group game and had a same result against Spain. The Copper Queens seemed to be in tough group but rose to beat Costa Rica 3-1.
The Copper Queens have been urged to stay focused as they embark on their next encounters because team work makes the dream work!
