The Kitwe Anti Robbery squad has recovered 34 tonnes of stolen Copper Concentrate from a Chinese national identified as Zhen ZeZ.
This is out of the 36 tonnes of Copper Concentrate stolen in Chingola recently.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner PEACEWELL MWEEMBA says Police have since arrested five people among them two Chinese nationals and three Zambians in connection with the theft.
He has told ZNBC news in a statement that the Copper concentrate was found near the Chingola Abattoir where the five allegedly took the contraband for safe keeping.
Mr. MWEEMBA said Police have since detained MOSES SALAMANCA 35, of house 2095 Kawama in Chililabombwe and a Security Guard who was escorting the trucks.
Others arrested are REGAN MALAMBO, the truck driver from Garden House in Lusaka, two Chinese nationals identified as YENNG WENJIE and TANNIIAN BIN all of Twatasha in Kitwe.
