A 50-year-old man of Siamahwa Estates in Popota area of Choma District Southern Province has been arrested for, allegedly, def!ling his 6-year-old granddaughter.
Southern Province Police Commanding Officer, Auxensio Daka says the incident happened when the suspect called the victim to watch cartoons and in the process she was taken to the bedroom where he def!led the minor.
Mr. Daka adds that whilst in the act the victim’s elder brother, aged 13-years-old, entered the bedroom and found the suspect on top of the victim, before quickly alerting other family members.
In related matter, a man identified as Raymond Chiwaya, 33, has been arrested for allegedly r@ping a mentally ill person of Kaluwe Village in Chief Cooma chiefdom.
