President Hakainde Hichilema says despite the wave of distraction, those serving under his administration will focus on the work at hand.
The President said the law will be applied on anyone regardless of their status in society and urged political party leaders not to hide behind politics.
President Hichilema said this yesterday in Lusaka Showgrounds during the handover of 156 Toyota Land Cruiser police vehicles that were bought for the all the constituencies in the countries using Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
President Hichilema said he is aware of the “so much distraction” that is going on.
“But I want to advise ministers, commissions, Secretary to the Cabinet, permanent secretaries, let’s focus on the work at the hand – the work for which we were elected by the people across the country,” he said.
“Please, citizens don’t fall in the trap of being misled. We want discourse in the country that is decent. We can’t hide behind politics and expect to get away with it. Let us be professional, Inspector-General of Police [Graphel Musamba]. But you should not be afraid of anyone.”
