A woman of Lusaka might have had good reason to take a 16-year-old girl to court for insults but this has exposed her husband’s potential case of defilement when the defendant revealed in court that she quarrelled with her because her spouse impregnated her 14-year-old sister.
Matero Local Court has ordered the complainant to bring her husband to court to answer allegations that he impregnated the defendant’s 14-year-old.
When the matter was called before Magistrate Harriet Mulenga for hearing, the defendant Ritah Chifundo, informed the court that it was the complainant, Florence Kalinda, who confronted her at her parents’ house.
Chifundo said Kalinda came to her parents’ house in the company of her friends and started insulting her.
“This woman’s husband damaged my sister aged 14 years and she is currently pregnant for her husband. She came to our parents’ home with her friends and only found me and my sister.
They started insulting us, but we did not say anything. We did not do anything wrong to her apart from the fact that her husband damaged my sister who is a minor,” she said.
